” THE NESTING EGG ” BY PASTRY CHEF NICOLAS MULTON

  • News

The bells are ringing, bringing with them a thousand and one coloured eggs to delight young and old alike.

For this new edition, the team at Villa René Lalique** is celebrating the arrival of spring by unveiling a unique and surprising 100% chocolate creation.

The different parts of this exceptional 100% chocolate sculpture have been designed as a nod to the world of the neighbouring crystal glassworks: the central structure represents a titmouse hidden among the leaves made from Millot Madagascar 75% organic chocolate, themselves inspired by Lalique’s iconic Champs-Elysées bowl. The case is filled with elegant dark and milk chocolate bonbons inspired by the Masque de Femme motif, and eggs topped with a Douglas fir ganache.

For this chocolate masterpiece, Nicolas Multon has selected two exceptional grands crus from Valrhona: Andoa Lactée and Millot Madagascar 75%. While the first one is characterized by an intense milky and cocoa flavour, the second one plays on acidity and bitterness. Both are made from organic cocoa beans, carefully selected from local fair trade partners (NOP certified). This enlightened choice once again reflects Nicolas Multon’s commitment to an eco-responsible and sustainable approach.

This incredible sculpture weighs around 850 g and measures 30 x 15 cm.

“Concerned about the environment and the neighbouring forest, I took my inspiration for Easter from the titmice nesting boxes found in the grounds of the Villa René Lalique. A great admirer of Lalique’s glassmaking expertise, I was inspired this year by the Champs-Elysées bowl, with its satin-polished finish. It’s an invitation to celebrate the beauty of the natural world around us! That’s why we want to support the LPO Alsace association, which works to preserve the ecosystem, by donating part of the profits from this Easter piece.” says Nicolas Multon.

Information and orders:

The 2024 Easter egg is a unique, gourmet creation, available in a limited edition at the Villa René Lalique and in the Lalique boutiques on Rue Royale in Paris, Lalique in Zurich and Lalique in Strasbourg.

15% of the profits will be donated to the local association LPO Alsace (Ligue pour la protection des oiseaux – League for the Protection of Birds), whose aim is to combat the decline in biodiversity through knowledge, protection, education and action.
