Ending the year in style at the Villa René Lalique: 5 exclusive events you won't want to miss

To round off the year in style, Villa René Lalique in Alsace is offering a series of special events on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in November and December. In addition to your gastronomic experience in our two starred Michelin restaurant, take part in our exclusive masterclasses led by our experts in the arts of gastronomy, pastry-making and sommellerie.

The Villa René Lalique offers you 5 exclusive events! Discover the wines of Alsace and Austria with our Head Sommelier Romain Iltis. Beer connoisseurs, explore the art of crafting beer with Sophie Peuckert, brewer at the Bluëme brewery in the village of Alteckendorf near Wingen-sur-Moder. Cocktail lovers, take part in an exclusive mixology masterclass led by our Sommeliers. Discover all the secrets of caviar with Kaviari expert Arthur Andre. Finally, experience an exceptional dining moment as Restaurant Director Hervé Schmitt hosts an elegant live flambé dessert presentation with Pastry Chef Jonathan Bunel in the dining room.

In the run-up to the festive season, treat yourself to a special moment of discovery and learning in the company of your loved ones!

Tuesday 5 November and Wednesday 13 November: Wines of Alsace and Austria with Head Sommelier Romain Iltis

  • From 7pm to 8pm
  • Join Romain Iltis for a captivating contest between the wines of Alsace and those of Austria, Chef Paul Stradner's home country. Explore their subtleties and discover how to match these great wines with your festive dishes. An epicurean battle between two great wine-producing nations: who will win? It's up to you to find out!

Tuesday 12 November:Beer-crafting with Sophie Peuckert from Brasserie  Bluëme in Alteckendorf and Romain Iltis, Head Sommelier

  • From 7pm to 8pm
  • Discover the world of beer with Romain Iltis and the craft beers of brewer Sophie Peuckert, founder of the Bluëme brewery in Alteckendorf. A workshop designed for both beer experts and curious newcomers
  • Price: €25 per person

Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 November: Mixology Masterclass with Head Sommelier Romain Iltis and his sommelier team

  • From 7pm to 8pm
  • Mixology masterclass with original and exclusive cocktails, with a Lalique touch. Discover the fascinating world of finest cocktails.

Wednesday 27 November: Caviar Masterclass with Arthur Andre from Kaviari

  • From 7pm to 8pm
  • Take an exclusive sensory journey and discover all the well-kept secrets of caviar with Kaviari expert Arthur Andre.

Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 December: The art of flambéing with Restaurant Manager Hervé Schmitt and Florian Chatelard, Maître d'Hôtel

  • 9.30pm
  • Enjoy a flambéing show orchestrated by Florian Chatelard and Hervé Schmitt. Watch as Pastry Chef Jonathan Bunel’s desserts are flambéed right before your eyes for a spectacular gourmet experience!

About Villa René Lalique

The villa built by René Lalique in 1920 has been reinventing itself since September 2015. Under the direction of Silvio Denz, Chairman and CEO of Lalique, Villa René Lalique has been transformed into the sumptuous setting of a five-star Relais & Châteaux hotel and a gastronomic restaurant, awarded two MICHELIN Guide starts in January 2016, just three months after its opening. Villa René Lalique, showcasing Maison Lalique's know-how and expertise, invites to delight in six exclusive suites, whose interior design was entrusted to Lady Tina Green and Pietro Mingarelli, interior designers. Since January 2019, Villa René Lalique has been a member of the prestigious "Les Grandes Tables du Monde" association.

Chef Paul Stradner, at the helm of the restaurant, imagined by world-renowned Swiss architect Mario Botta, since 2020, is accompanied by a team of fifteen people for this fine-dining establishment. Pastry Chef, Jonathan Bunel, who works alongside Paul Stradner and who has been heading his team since 1st October 2024, draws his inspiration from produce found at the very heart of the Northern Vosges to imagine his delicious creations. In terms of food and wine pairings, Romain Iltis, Alsatian Head Sommelier, reigns over an exceptional cellar, which is one of Europe's finest and boasts no less than 60,000 bottles. Hervé Schmitt, Restaurant Manager, directs Lalique's table service and scenography like a ballet.
